Before I get to the games, just want to remind everyone that THURSDAY FEBRUARY 19TH GAMES are Double Headers. More on this will be posted tomorrow.
B/P will START at 8:30 am and the first game will start at 9:30 am. Then, take a very short break and start game TWO of the Double Header.... As always, Double Headers are 6 innings.
Now..... On to the games played today:
LAKESIDE DERMATOLOGY vs ELKS
Lakeside Dermatology lost to the Elks today, by the score of 13 to 16. After not scoring in the first four innings, we made it close by scoring 5 in the bottom of the last inning.
Highlights for Lakeside included:
Vince Ferrer had 4 hits and 2 RBIs.
Jack Nartker, in his first game back, had 3 hits and 2 RBIs.
Kip pitched well for the Elks and their defense backed him up, limiting us to two extra base hits. JR Reed made a great over the shoulder catch on a liner to deep right center.

McPHAIL'S vs VFW
After a couple of innings, it was evident that both teams came out to play and were run for run until the 5th inning.
VFW bats came alive and took the lead and held on for a 19 - 12 win over the explosive, never say quit, McPhail's team.
On a couple of notable plays by the VFW offence, right fielder Randy Noack picked up a well hit ball and threw a cannon to second base for the tag out.
Also for VFW, third baseman Brendan "Bruiser" Connelly snagged a blistering one hopper to tag third base for the force out and final out of the inning.
Lester Osbeck was the winning pitcher who kept throwing pitches right on the button and making it extra hard for his opponents to hit.

ALAN JAY AUTO vs BEN & JERRY'S
Alan Jay held off a late surge by Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream with a winning score of 14-11. It was 14-7 going into the last inning when the Ice Cream boys put together a rally by scoring 4 straight runs. The Alan Jay team was relieved to get the last out. For Alan Jay Auto, Dan Slot continued to power his team with 2 inside-the-park home runs and 5 RBIs. Don Dobbert pitched well and has been Mr. Consistent at the plate by going 3-4. Dobbert is hitting .824 over nine games played. Mike Martino, Steve Smutnick and Dan Crosier each had 3 hits to aid the cause. In the field, Cathy Collier made some excellent plays and Dick Cook made a long throw from the outfield to home for an out. Alan Jay Auto's record improved to 10-2.

Ben & Jerry's lost another one to Alan Jay 14-11. B & J scored just one run in the first three innings, but stretched out 10 more runs in the last 5 innings. Third baseman Scott Storch, a Green Bay product, went 4 for 4 with 4 doubles and scored 3 runs. As a young lad, Scott was a ball boy at the Packers preseason work outs and became good friends with Brett Favre. Tom Marcotte played a great game in right field and was 3 for 3 at the plate. Steve Dierdorff, one of the older players in the league, was exceptional at shortstop and ripped 2 doubles. Mid Fielder Steve Woodworth smoked 2 hard singles, and turned 3 double plays. Dick "Moon" Mooney, Roland Puebla, and Terry Steamboat also had 2 hits apiece.
