Alan Jay Report:
Alan Jay Auto got past McPhail's Auto with a score of 12-9 in the first game of a double-header. Alan Jay's standout hitters were Don Dobbert, Ron Barts, and Dan Crosier who each went 3-3 in the 6-inning game. Dan Slot was on base 3-3, scored 2 runs and played outstanding defense. Cathy Collier added 2 hits to aid the cause. This pushed the Alan Jay Auto record to 8-1.
In the second game of the doubleheader, it was Alan Jay Auto vs the VFW. It was a close game all the way with Alan Jay taking a 13-11 lead into the last at bat for VFW. Jim Polatty opened with a hit but Don Dobbert's pitching retired the next two batters. Down to their last out, Manuel Martinez, David Calvani and Coach Lester Osbeck had consecutive hits to win the game 14-13. Alan Jay was led by Don Dobbert and Dick Cook who were each 3-3 while Mike Martino had a double and a triple for 3 RBIs and Dan Slot was 2-3 and also had 3 RBIs. Nine players in Alan Jay's lineup had at least 2 hits. Alan Jay's record is now 8-2.

VFW Report:
Lakeside vs VFW
The VFW Team had TWO exciting come from behind winds today.
Game 1 showed that the Lakeside Dermatology Team had another great showing of just how good they are and they were very determined to pull out their first win by taking the lead early in the game. It took the VFW Team everything they had to take the game in the final inning and came from behind to win it 13-12
Alan Jay Auto vs VFW
Again, this VFW team showed their resilience and fought back hard as the first place Alan Jay Auto came to play... and took an early lead on the VFW team and held onto that lead until VFW started creeping back and were now only behind 2 runs going into the final inning.
Key hits by Manuel Martinez, David Calvani and Lester Osbeck put the nail in the coffin and secured the win for VFW by a score of 14-13
These two back-to-back come from behind wins for VFW, now puts them in First place, tied with Alan Jay Auto, both with 8-2 records.

Lakeside Report:
Highlights for Lakeside Dermatology in our 1st game against VFW included:
Rod Lee's 3 RBIs and an inside the park home run.
Ellis Howard had 3 hits and made some nice plays at 3rd.
Mike Jones also had 3 hits.
Even though the bottom half of our lineup had 11 hits and 6 RBIs, VFW still managed to win 13 to 12.
In game #2 vs. Ben & Jerry's, our highlights included:
Rod Lee's 2nd inside the park home run of the day and a triple.
Jim 'Woody' Wood also had a triple driving in 3 runs.
Ellis Howard had 3 hits, 3 RBIs and pitched a great game, winning 10 to 9.
