Game 19 report from Alan Jay Auto:
It was a beautiful day for Senior Softball in the friendly confines of Field A where umpire Chuck Detore officiated and did another excellent job. Alan Jay Auto held on to defeat the Sebring Elks team by a score of 16-14. Ron Barts came off the disabled list to pitch well, aided by excellent defense by infielders Cathy Collier and Dick Cook and rover Dan Slot. Eddie Tei was a perfect 3-3 with 2 runs scored. Mike Martino and Slot each had 4 RBIs. Steve Smutnick, Don Dobbert and Dave Conrad were each 3-4. Terry Avery, Dan Crosier and Steve Russell each had hits to aid the cause. It was truly a team effort to reach their 14th win against 5 losses.

LAKESIDE DERMATOLOGY vs McPHAIL'S AUTO
I am happy to report that Lakeside Dermatology won today's game against McPhail's by a score of
22 to 8 (not 100% positive about their score).
Highlights for Lakeside Dermatology included:
Rod Lee had a single, a double and 2 inside the park home runs, for 5 RBI's, and played great defense at rover.
Curt Glassman had 2 singles and a double for 3 RBIs and pitched another great game.
Jack Nartker went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs.
John Rozan went 2 for 2, both doubles, and an intentional walk.
Ellis Howard went 3 for 3.
This is our 3rd consecutive win, but we are still tied with Ben & Jerry's for last place. We will battle it out with them on Thursday, the final game of the regular season.

VFW POST 4300 vs BEN & JERRY'S
It was a beautiful morning at the ballpark. The sun was breaking down the early morning fog and it was clear sailing for game time.
But there was still a fog surrounding the First Place VFW team as their bats were silent throughout most of the game.
Ben & Jerry's, meanwhile, found the holes and batted base hit after base hit making it hard for the VFW team to get anything going .
After 7 complete innings, Ben & Jerry's had a huge 20-5 lead. The teams agreed to flip flop and VFW stayed at the plate only to muster 2 more runs .
Final score. Ben & Jerry's 20 - VFW 7
Of note: With Alan Jay Auto's win today and VFW's loss, this puts both of these teams TIED for FIRST PLACE... bringing BOTH teams together on Thursday in the Battle for First Place Showdown.
